Background Check Policy
Crum & Co. Outdoors has updated our firearm transaction policy. Please review this before completing your purchase.
When the Policy Applies
Once your ATF Form 4473 has been completed and your background check has been submitted, processing has begun.
A non-refundable, non-transferable fee equal to 50% of the purchase price applies if:
- Your background check results in a Non Approval, OR
- You choose to withdraw or cancel your purchase while your background check is still under review.
Why We Have This Policy
Most background checks are approved within minutes, but some require additional review. Once a background check has been submitted:
- Processing costs have been incurred
- Inventory has been removed from available stock
- The firearm cannot be sold to another customer while pending
This policy helps offset those costs.
Successful Purchases
This is not an additional fee for customers whose firearm purchase is successfully completed.
Layaways & Special Orders
Layaway and special order payments are considered:
- Fully earned
- Non-refundable
- Non-transferable
if the firearm receives a Non Approval background check.
