Florida 2026 sales tax holiday

Florida 2026 Gun & Ammo Sales Tax Holiday

Qualifying firearms, ammunition, suppressors, and select firearm accessories are tax free September 1 through December 31, 2026.

Florida’s 2026 Hunting, Fishing & Camping Sales Tax Holiday brings a major opportunity for Florida hunters, shooters, and firearm owners.

From September 1 through December 31, 2026, Florida sales tax is not due on qualifying firearms, ammunition, and specifically listed firearm accessories.

Crum & Co. Outdoors is located in downtown Apalachicola and carries firearms, ammunition, optics, shooting accessories, suppressors, and more, with additional firearm inventory available through our online storefront.

Whether you’ve been waiting on a new hunting setup or just need to restock before the season, now is a great time to shop.

What’s Tax Free During Florida’s 2026 Holiday?

Florida’s Department of Revenue specifically includes firearms, ammunition, and certain firearm accessories in the 2026 sales tax holiday.

Firearms

Qualifying firearm purchases include:

  • Pistols
  • Rifles
  • Shotguns

Ammunition

Qualifying complete ammunition is included in the sales tax holiday.

  • Eligible ammunition purchases can be made without Florida sales tax during the holiday period.
  • A practical time to prepare for hunting season, range days, or a restock.

Qualifying Firearm Accessories

Florida specifically identifies the following firearm accessories as eligible:

  • Barrels
  • Cases and range bags
  • Charging handles
  • Cleaning kits
  • Handguards
  • Holsters
  • Internal parts and components
  • Magazines and other ammunition-feeding devices or carriers
  • Pistol grips
  • Shooting chronographs
  • Shooting mats
  • Shooting rests
  • Bipods
  • Sights and optics
  • Slides and cylinders

No Listed Purchase-Price Limit on Eligible Hunting Supplies

Florida’s 2026 tax holiday publication establishes purchase-price limits for certain fishing and camping supplies but does not list a purchase-price cap for the qualifying hunting supplies identified above. Because individual transactions and products can vary, Crum & Co. will confirm eligibility when necessary.

NFA information

Yes — Suppressors Are Included

Suppressors and silencers are specifically listed by the Florida Department of Revenue as qualifying firearm accessories during the 2026 Hunting, Fishing & Camping Sales Tax Holiday.

That means an eligible suppressor purchased during the September 1 through December 31 holiday period may qualify for the Florida sales tax exemption.

All normal federal NFA requirements, ATF paperwork, approvals, and other applicable requirements still apply.

Not Every Outdoor or Firearm-Related Item Qualifies

Florida specifically defines the products that qualify for the 2026 sales tax holiday.

While firearms and ammunition are included, the firearm-accessory exemption applies to specifically identified categories. A product should not automatically be considered tax exempt simply because it is used with a firearm or sold by an outdoor retailer.

The tax holiday also does not apply to rentals of eligible items or items purchased for commercial use.

If you have a question about whether a specific product qualifies, ask the Crum & Co. team and we’ll help confirm its tax treatment before purchase.
